🇺🇸 4th of July Events + Adoptable Doggo of the Month
Thursday, July 3rd in Vancouver, Washington
Happy Thursday, Vancouver!
The 4th of July is upon us, which means we have a glorious three-day weekend ahead. You’ve got 72 whole hours to lounge, party, or adventure. Preferably all three?!
And while we’re talking about freedom…this month’s adoptable doggo from the Southwest Washington Humane Society is still looking for theirs (freedom, that is). Freedom from the shelter and into the lap of luxury. Oh, and scroll down to our featured event to find out how to receive waived adoption fees at the Southwest Washington Humane Society FOR FREE on Saturday!
Anyways, here's what to expect in today's edition of The PNW Report (Vancouver):

🤑 ReTails Thrift Store Announces 99 Cent Clothing Sale
Sundays in July just became the purr-fect time to clean out your closet…just so you can fill it right back up. ReTails Thrift Store is slinging every single piece of clothing for just 99 cents a piece every Sunday in July. Yes, really! Plus, all proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Southwest Washington, so it’s almost like not thrifting would be…negligent?!
🚧 New Highway 500 Pedestrian Bridge FINALLY Opens
After what feels like 47 years and at least a dozen “bridge to nowhere” jokes, the new Highway 500 pedestrian bridge has officially opened. Now you can safely cross one of Vancouver’s busiest roadways without playing a high-stakes game of Frogger!
🎇 Reminder: Fireworks Illegal in City of Vancouver

Back in 2015, Vancouver’s City Council passed a fireworks ordinance (M-4137), and by 2016, it became officially illegal to go full “patriotic pyromaniac” within city limits. That’s right…all fireworks are banned here. Yes, even the “harmless” ones your uncle swears are fine. Spoiler: they’re not. Live outside city limits? Congrats! Different rules apply…go find out if your local laws let you sparkle or fizzle.

🐶 ADOPTABLE DOGGO OF THE MONTH

Meet Everest! He’s got energy to spare and is looking for a partner (or a whole family, let’s be honest) to join him on hikes, backyard zoomies, and a squirrel-chasing mission or two.
Everest’s adoption fee is normally $500, but plot twist: ALL adoption fees are waived during the Craig Stein Yappy Hour this weekend at the Humane Society! Check out our featured event for more information.
