We hope you're staying hydrated, because this week's lineup is absolutely packed with ways to beat the heat, from cool air-conditioned comedy clubs to, uh... throwing axes at demons? LOCAL NEWS

šŸŒ Climate Community Forum Heats Up Tonight

If you've been sweating through this June (and at 91° today, you absolutely have), tonight is your chance to do something about it. The Vancouver City Council is holding its quarterly Community Forum tonight, June 22nd, from 6:30 - 8PM at the Vancouver Arts Hub (1007 E Mill Plain Blvd), focused entirely on environmental sustainability and climate readiness.

The feedback gathered tonight will directly shape updates to Vancouver's Climate Action Framework this fall AKA the city's roadmap for handling exactly the kind of heat, wildfire smoke, and severe weather we've been getting more of. City staff say residents' top concerns lately have shifted from abstract climate talk to very real, very immediate stuff: extreme heat days, smoky summers, and severe winter storms. Doors open at 6PM. RSVP recommended!

😭 Persnickety Vintage in Uptown is Closing

Sad news for the thrifters and vintage hunters among us: Persnickety, the beloved curated vintage shop at 1911 Main St in Uptown Vancouver, is closing its doors. For years, Persnickety has been one of the anchor stops on any proper Main Street vintage crawl…curated home decor, clothing, and the kind of finds you don't get at a regular thrift store. If you've been meaning to stop in, now is the time (they are also running a 20% off everything vintage closing sale). Go say goodbye and grab a piece of Vancouver retail history before it's gone. We'll miss you, Persnickety.
