Happy Monday, Vancouver!

We’re officially back from winter break, the inboxes are refilling, alarms are being set again, and the holiday glow has been replaced by the lull of things. The bad news? There’s no day off until Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The good news? We promise it’s not that far away.

In the meantime, Vancouver hasn’t gone completely quiet. There are still a few things happening around town to help you ease back into real life…low-commitment events, cozy outings, and just enough to make leaving the house feel worth it. We’re calling it a soft launch back into January.

😭 FYE Closing in Vancouver Mall

Bad retail news for fellow mall wanderers: FYE at the Vancouver Mall is officially closing! It was one of the last places in town where you could still browse a genuinely solid CD section without being aggressively upsold on fandom merch, and its demise feels like yet another casualty of the slow death of physical media (plus stiff competition from Hot Topic and BoxLunch).

Underbar’s Open Mic, hosted by Juan Duran, is the place to be to beat the Monday blues. Their drink selection doesn’t hurt either tbh…sip sip hooray!
