Two exciting new businesses are opening their doors, and this weekend is packed to the brim with activities for everyoneā¦whether youāre a history buff digging into local stories, a book lover hunting for your next great read, or a proud plant parent looking to grow your green thumb.

š§ The Alley Tea Shop Opens in Vancouver
Sip, sip, hooray! Vancouver just got a new hideout for tea lovers: the Alley Tea Shop. This offshoot of the popular Alfred Coffee based in Los Angeles has just opened a new franchise at 7910 E Mill Plain. However you like your tea: matcha, boba, or classic black, this spotās got your back (and your cup). How tea-riffic!
š Vancouver-Based Hellfired Pizza Shuts Down
Vancouver-based Hellfired Pizza has officially closed its Columbia House Blvd location. This shutdown was part of a wider move: Hellfiredās parent company, Hot Stone LLC, shuttered all four of its locations (including the Vancouver site) due to financial friction and staffing struggles. We will miss them, and they will always have a pizza our hearts.
š Oakbrook Park in Central Vancouver is Getting a MAJOR Makeover
Oakbrook Park is leveling up! The 13.6 acre park is slated to get some pickleball courts, a new wetlands-themed playground, and native plantings through Vancouverās Naturespaces program. A Portland Loo will also be installed. Phase one is in progress with an expected opening date of September 2025. In phase two, a splash pad and picnic shelter will be constructed.
