Happy Monday, Vancouver!

Both Vancouver Public Schools and Evergreen School District are officially on spring break, which means fewer school drop-offs, more midday Target sightings, and a general sense that time doesn’t matter this week!

And can we talk about this weather?! It’s been absolutely incredible! Sunshine, warmth, joy?! The only catch…the allergies are absolutely destroying us. Like, eyes-watering, sneeze-attacks-in-public levels of bad.

But despite the pollen trying to take us out, Vancouver is still delivering with a ton of events happening this week. So stock up on tissues, grab your antihistamines, and let’s make the most of it!

😱 Vancouver Public Schools Only Has 4 Days of Cash Reserves

An audit of Vancouver Public Schools has revealed that they are running on four days of cash reserves…yes, FOUR. 😬 The audit shows rising costs, dropping enrollment, and a budget gap (that’s leading to nearly 200 job cuts next year). The district says it’s “living paycheck to paycheck”…but like… with thousands of students depending on it. Cuts, closures, and borrowing are all on the table as they try to dig out of a $24M hole.

It’s structured, but mostly just good old-fashioned aquatic fun. Note: the British Swim School in Vancouver is located at the Hampton Inn on Olympia Drive (random, we know).

Looking for a way to entertain the kiddos and keep them from turning into couch potatoes? Rhys Thomas is here to save the day, blending science with belly laughs and jaw-dropping circus tricks. It’s like a mad scientist, a comedian, and a circus clown walked into a bar…now what’s the punchline on that one?

Grab the fam and settle in for Family Movie Matinee…the library will bring the popcorn, you bring the kiddos!

🏃‍♂️ Run Club @ Foot Traffic | 5:45PM (FREE)
Looking for an excuse to be active but mostly just want to socialize? This run club is 50% chatting, 50% running, and 100% a good time. They meet at the Trader Joe’s on Chkalov, you know, just in case you wanna grab some cheese for the drive home.
