🚧 Mill Plain Didn't Collapse After All
Monday, April 27th in Vancouver, Washington

Happy Monday, Vancouver!
Well, it finally happened: the great In-N-Out Burger Vancouver grand opening on Thursday came, saw, and (somehow) did not immediately collapse Mill Plain and 136th Avenue.

Despite the hype (even though 80% of our readers said they weren’t going to check out In-n-Out on opening day), the traffic situation remained shockingly…functional. We were on the ground to investigate…check out our video below for the full opening day experience:
This week’s headlines also include news of a local restaurant closing its doors, and a local utility provider's rate hike (that you definitely didn't ask for).
Anyways, here's what to expect in today's edition of The PNW Report (Vancouver):

😭 The Sedgwick in Vancouver, WA is Permanently Closing on 5/8/2026
It's the end of an era (and no, we're not okay). After 5 years of first dates, birthday parties, celebrations, and a few life decisions made over cocktails, The Sedgwick is closing its doors for good on May 8th, 2026. Shout out to Tim and Melissa McCusker for giving Vancouver a spot that somehow worked everything: date night, book club, prom pics, and more. One last chance to go back for old times' sake...or finally try it like you've been saying you would for the past 5 years (time flies!)
📈 NW Natural Plans To Raise Natural Gas Rates Nearly 20%
Northwest Natural is looking to turn up the heat on your wallet with a (nearly) proposed 20% rate hike! 🫠 If regulators don't extinguish this plan, Clark County residents could see an average monthly jump of nearly $13 starting this August. Washington’s Attorney General, Nick Brown, is already calling the increase "unjustified" for captive consumers.
While NW Natural claims they need the extra gas to keep things safe, critics say they’re just fueling a cost-of-living crisis. By 2028, you could be burning through an extra $268 a year just to keep the pilot light on. Don't let your budget go up in smoke without a fight! The UTC still needs to approve the plan, so stay tuned to see if this proposal gets snuffed out.
What are your thoughts on the NW Natural proposed rate hike? |
