🐶 Scooby Doo, Victorian Ghosts, and a Sinister Burlesque

Monday, October 27th in Vancouver, Washington

Presented By:

Happy Hallo-Week, Vancouver!

If you participated in a Trunk-or-Treat this weekend, we hope you’ve finally dried out. There is truly nothing quite like standing in a parking lot while rain pours sideways and a tiny Elsa demands candy.

But don’t hang up your costumes yet, because the big weekend is still ahead and the event calendar is stuffed like a pillowcase full of candy. A spooky burlesque show, free Halloween movie screenings, Victorian ghosts…it’s all go time!

And in the least spooky news possible: we have a small (very tiny, barely-a-whisper) update about trash rates. We’ll keep it short…because yes, even during Halloween, adulthood finds us. BOOOOOOOOO

Anyways, here's what to expect in today's edition of The PNW Report (Vancouver):

šŸ“° Local News

LOCAL NEWS

šŸ—‘ļø Garbage Rates Are Going Up (Slightly) in 2026

Good news or bad news first?

Okay, fine…here’s the bad news. Your trash pick-up is about to get a tiny bit pricier. The City just approved new 2026 rates for garbage, recycling, and organics collection due to inflation, fuel costs, and landfill fees.

Here’s the good news…we truly mean only a tiny bit pricier. For the average household, this new price increase works out to about $0.64 more per month. Not exactly scandalous, but not exactly nothing. Still seemed like we should report on it!
