Happy Monday, Vancouver!

Did everyone enjoy the beautiful weather this past weekend? Sun, cherry blossoms, warm(ish) weather, a new ice cream shop opening…it definitely felt like spring in Vancouver. Which is fitting, because Saturday officially marked the “Official” first day of Spring! Unfortunately, this is Vancouver, so we will be getting back to our regularly scheduled programming of rain for a little bit. Remember, we are here:

Anyways, here's what to expect in today's edition of The PNW Report (Vancouver):

🥟 Bellevue, WA-Based Dough Zone Dumpling House is Coming to Mill Plain in East Vancouver

Vancouver’s dumpling scene is about to rise to the occasion! Dough Zone is kneading its way into 11909 SE Mill Plain Blvd, taking over the former Costa Vida spot and bringing its soup dumplings along for the journey. There’s no exact opening date yet, but they’re aiming for late spring, so start saving room now, because once this place opens, you’re going to be on a strict see-food (dumpling edition) diet.

🏛️ Former Vancouver CFO Files Tort Claim Against City

Things are getting a little less “spreadsheet” and a little more “lawsuit pending.” Vancouver’s former CFO, Natasha Ramras, has filed a tort claim against the city, alleging retaliation after she raised concerns about how public funds were being used. The claim, filed last month, could lead to a full lawsuit, especially after she says the situation ended with her firing. We’ll keep you updated!
