😭 Why is Everything in Vancouver Closing or Blowing Over?!

Thursday, December 18th in Vancouver, Washington

Together With:

Happy Thursday, Vancouver!

Um…where do we even start?!

Tuesday night’s giant-massive-mega-super-duper windstorm left most of Clark County scrambling on Wednesday, with power outages, toppled trees, and debris everywhere. And somehow, in the middle of all this, we’re just one week away from Christmas, local businesses are closing left and right, the streets are packed (or dark), and the weather? Yep…it’s not gonna let up, apparently. What even is December in Vancouver anymore?

Despite it all, the calendar is still jam-packed with events, so grab your umbrella, your flashlight, a spare battery charger, and your holiday patience…you’ll need all to survive the last week before the big day.

LOCAL NEWS

šŸ• Heavy Metal Pizza & Explorer Brewing Has ā€œRocked Onā€ For The Last Time

Well, Heavy Metal Pizza & Explorer Brewing Co. has officially played its final encore. After the owners put out a heartfelt ā€œChristmas miracleā€ plea due to low foot traffic, a broken cooler delivered the ultimate mic drop…forcing an early and permanent closure confirmed on December 15th. Known for face-melting pizza, loud riffs, karaoke chaos, and community love, the metal-forward brewpub leaves behind a silent stage.

šŸ” Georgie’s Bar & Grill Has Slammed The Brakes For Good

Another one bites the dust! Georgie’s Garage & Grill has officially slammed the brakes. Just hours after promoting a December 13th toy drive, the longtime neighborhood bar abruptly posted that it had closed...permanently. After a rough year that included a fire outside the building and a bumpy road back, the popular Broadway hangout has officially parked for good, leaving behind memories, regulars, and one very confused comment section.

šŸŗ Loyal Legion Brewing is Coming to Vancouver Next Spring

Get ready, Vancouver…Loyal Legion is marching in! The Portland-based beer hall chain is taking over the former Heathen Brewing Feral Public House space, bringing Washington-brewed craft beers, pub favorites, and a massive indoor-outdoor remodel. With plans to open in Spring 2026, this will be the first Loyal Legion in Washington State, promising up to 100 draft lines, live events, and a speakeasy-style basement. What can we say? We guess it’s better to be loyal than to be feral…
